Facebook's "Save" only bookmarks a Reel inside the app. To keep the actual video file, for offline viewing or to repost your own Reel elsewhere, use Clipzy:
- On the Reel, tap Share, then Copy link.
- Paste the link into the box above and tap Analyze.
- Pick a quality and tap Download Video. The Reel saves as an MP4.
Regular Facebook videos and Watch clips work on the main Facebook video downloader.
Reel Links That Work
Facebook creates several link shapes for the same Reel, and all the common ones work: facebook.com/reel/… from a browser, facebook.com/share/r/… from the app's Share button, and short fb.watch/… links. If you copied a long link full of tracking codes and it fails, use Share → Copy link for a clean one.
Quality and Format
Reels download as vertical 9:16 MP4 files with sound included. Clipzy lists the qualities Facebook serves for that Reel (for example 720p, 1080p and 1440p) so you can choose between a small phone copy and the sharpest version. Audio-only (MP3) downloads aren't available for Facebook.
Repost Your Reels to TikTok and Shorts
Because Reels, TikToks and Shorts share the same vertical frame, a downloaded Reel uploads cleanly to the other platforms. Start from the highest quality, rewrite the caption for each app, and upload natively. Only repost Reels you made or have permission to use.
Why a Reel Won't Download
- It isn't public: Reels shared with Friends or inside private groups can't be fetched.
- It was deleted or its audience changed after you copied the link.
- Wrong page: a YouTube or Instagram link pasted here shows a shortcut to the right downloader.
