Instagram lets you save a Reel's audio inside the app, but only as a bookmark, never as a file. Clipzy extracts the sound from any public Reel and saves a real MP3 you can keep:
- On the Reel, tap the Share (paper plane) icon or the three-dot menu, then Copy link.
- Paste the link into the box above and tap Analyze.
- Tap Download MP3. After a short conversion step, the MP3 saves to your device.

Original Audio, Voiceovers and Music
The MP3 is the Reel's own audio track: whatever plays when you watch it, whether that's the creator's original sound, a voiceover or a licensed song. It sounds the same as the Reel on your phone; Instagram compresses audio on upload, and converting can't add back what was lost.
"Audio Is Not Available": Why It Happens
- The Reel is silent, or its music was removed for copyright reasons, so there is no audio track left.
- It's a photo post or carousel of images: those have no audio.
- The account is private, or the Reel was deleted or archived.
Our step-by-step guide on saving Instagram Reel audio as MP3 covers each case in more detail.
Where the MP3 Goes
On iPhone, look in the Files app under Downloads; audio doesn't appear in Photos. On Android, it's in Downloads and your music apps. On Windows and Mac, it saves to your browser's downloads folder.
Want the Sound in Your Own Reel?
Tap the audio name at the bottom of the original Reel and choose Use audio. Your Reel then links to that sound's page and stays properly licensed. Re-uploading a copyrighted song as "original audio" can get a Reel muted, so keep downloaded MP3s for listening, study and your own sounds.
